Primary Functions

・Assist Plant Manager in overseeing daily operational activities incl.Troubleshooting of production process.

・Assist Plant Manager in Initiating process improvement

・Co-ordinating maintenance of plant equipment.

・Ensure Plant operations are in compliance to Environmental, Operational/Food Safety & Health regulations

・Implementing/Maintaining management systems (QEMS, Kosher, OSH, RSPO, SEDEX, etc.)

・Asssit Plant Manager establishing and maintaining competency for operational staffs.

Duty & Responsibilities

1. Monitor Plant operation for output, quality and efficiency. Investigate, identify and implement corrective actions to recurrent deviations from process norm.

2. Assist Plant Manager to initiate and recommend improvement to Plant processes.

3. Assist Plant Manager to plan and ensure proper implementation of Plant maintenance activities.

4. Assist Plant Manager to liaise with external vendors and contractors where necessary.

5. Assist Plant Manager to prepare monthly summary of all activities in the Plant.

6. Assist Production Manager to verify plant integrity after maintenance of equipments.

7. Monitor Energy Efficiency of the plant and initiate timely actiions against any deviation from the standard.

8. Conduct training to operational staff as per department's training program.

9. Assist Production Manager to ensure that all risk assessment in the workplace are established, implemented,
monitored and documented and communicated according to WSH (Risk Management) requirements.

10. Assist Production Manager to handle internal & external audits.

11. Any other duties as may deemed appropriate by the Department head.

OSH Responsibilities

1. Ensure and enforce compliance to the company’s safety and health policies, safety and health management system and relevant legal and other applicable safety and health requirements.

2. Commit to the implementation and continual improvement of the safety and health management system for the processes and areas under the department’s control.

3. Comply with the relevant roles and responsibilities in the safety and health management system.

4. Lead, develop and enforce standard operating procedures, process safety information (where applicable) and safe work practices.

5. Ensure all personnel under the department’s control are trained and competent to work safely.

6. Take reasonably practicable steps to reduce OSH risks within the department and its processes.

7. Participate in relevant safety and health programs, trainings and initiatives.

8. Assist with incident reporting, investigation and analysis for relevant incidents and accidents as required.

9. Perform Plant Safety inspection

10. Enforce good housekeeping and 5S in the work area.

OSH Authorities

1. To enforce compliance to company’s safety and health management system and relevant legal and other applicable safety and health requirements.

2. To act on behalf of superior/s to fulfil any delegated task/s.

3. Issue and approve permit in accordance to Permit To Work systems.

4. To have overall control, make and approve changes to the work environment, facilities, equipment, processes, work activities, workers, procedures, and process safety information under his/her charge.

5. To send his/her workers to relevant trainings to obtain the competency to work safely.

6. To authorize the shutdown of operations under his/her responsibility.

7. To stop any unsafe work or negligent act that may endanger personnel.

8. To approve and implement necessary actions against any S&H violations.

9. To investigate and analyse any incidents that occurred within his/her charge.

10. To feedback concerns and areas for improvements.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCERequired

✓Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Process Technology/Technical Diploma with relevant work experience

✓Instrumentation and Control knowledge, PLC programming, computer software (Excel, Powerpt, Word)

✓Project Management

✓At least 3 years working experience in a process manufacturing industry

✓Self starter, good EQ and communication skills
