・Primary Responsibilities: Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned.

1. Supplier Development Strategy
• Formulate and execute supplier development strategies that align with organizational goals for quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supplier processes.

2. Tooling & Engineering Validation
• Evaluate and guide suppliers in selecting and maintaining appropriate tooling that meets product specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee engineering validation processes to ensure manufacturing methods consistently deliver products that meet technical and
regulatory requirements.
• Champion advanced quality planning (e.g., APQP) to reduce risks during new product introductions.

3. Capacity Planning & Scalability
• Assess and improve suppliers’ production capacity, ensuring they can respond flexibly to demand fluctuations without compromising
quality.
• Collaborate with suppliers on long-term capacity planning, including equipment upgrades and workforce training.
• Implement contingency plans to address potential bottlenecks, ensuring timely delivery and cost optimization.

4. Quality Systems Implementation & Compliance
• Ensure suppliers maintain strong quality management systems (QMS), compliant with ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other relevant
standards.
• Provide support in quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC, conducting regular root cause analyses for defect
prevention.
• Track and measure quality-related KPIs (e.g., scrap rate, first-pass yield, on-time delivery) to drive data-driven improvements.

5. Warranty & Claims Management
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Customer Service, Aftermarket Support) to address warranty claims associated with supplier-
produced components.
• Investigate warranty-related failures, conduct root cause analysis, and work with suppliers to implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and oversee processes for claims resolution, ensuring timely financial recovery or compensation from suppliers for in-warranty
defects.
• Monitor warranty performance metrics, sharing insights with leadership and recommending proactive measures to reduce future claims.

6. Supplier Selection & Qualification
• Partner with Sourcing Commodity Leaders to identify and qualify new suppliers with the technical capabilities and quality systems
necessary to meet performance targets.
• Conduct on-site audits and capability assessments, with attention to tooling infrastructure, process controls, QMS maturity, and
engineering robustness.
• Guide suppliers through the Part Approval Process (HPPD deliverables), ensuring adherence to internal and industry standards.

7. Performance Assessments & Corrective Actions
• Develop and maintain supplier scorecards, evaluating quality, delivery, cost, service, warranty performance, and compliance.
• Lead corrective action processes for supplier non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of future recurrences.
• Conduct follow-up audits to confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions and supplier improvements.

8. Collaboration & Relationship Management
• Foster transparent, collaborative relationships with suppliers through regular communication, joint problem-solving, and knowledge
sharing.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, quality, and customer-facing teams to align on product specs, tooling needs,
and performance goals.
• Coordinate and lead training sessions or workshops aimed at building supplier capability in quality management, process efficiency, and
emerging technologies.

9. Risk Identification & Mitigation
• Monitor global supply chain trends, quality risks, and capacity constraints that may impact production or warranty liabilities.
• Develop comprehensive risk management strategies, including backup tooling, dual sourcing, and robust maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement continuous improvement plans that reduce risks and optimize performance.

10. Data Analysis & Reporting
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data on supplier quality, tooling effectiveness, capacity utilization, and warranty performance.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, highlighting areas for improvement and strategic decision-making.
• Keep detailed documentation of audits, corrective actions, claims resolutions, and supplier progress to ensure accountability and
transparency.

11. Supplier Performance Improvement
• Develop and implement supplier performance improvement plans, focusing on areas such as lead time reduction, cost savings, and
quality enhancement.
• Facilitate supplier workshops and training sessions to promote best practices and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCERequired

✓Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

✓Proven track record in tooling optimizations, engineering validations, capacity planning, and quality systems integration.

✓Thorough understanding of QMS standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) and process improvement methodologies (Lean,
Six Sigma).

✓Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in interpreting metrics (e.g., warranty claim rates, scrap rates, Cp/Cpk) to drive continuous
improvement.

✓Project Management: Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives, manage timelines, and prioritize effectively.

✓Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (advanced level), with the ability
to lead supplier negotiations and resolve conflicts.

✓Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to build lasting partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

✓Problem-Solving: Skilled in root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone) for both production issues and warranty claims.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with commercial marine standards (MED) is a bonus.

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, or manufacturing

• Certifications such as ASQ (American Society for Quality), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality
Auditor), SQEP (Supplier Quality Excellence Program), MSD (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council), CRE (Certified
Reliability Engineer), UPPAP (Universal Production Part Approval Process), and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
International purchasing

✓Travel Requirements: Indicate travel required for the position
Willing and able to travel up to 50%—domestically and internationally—to conduct audits, oversee validations, and facilitate
supplier development.
