As a Product Manager / Assistant Product Manager, you will play a key role in driving the commercial success of assigned products. You will be responsible for end-to-end product management, strategy execution, and cross-functional collaboration to support product growth and brand visibility in the Malaysian pharmaceutical market.
1. Commercial Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement marketing strategies for assigned products
• Conduct market analysis, segmentation, and competitive intelligence
• Prepare and implement pre-launch and post-launch marketing plans
• Design and execute promotional campaigns and marketing materials
• Manage product life cycle, from launch to maturity and end-of-life planning
• Plan formulary listing activities and monitor progress
2. Budget Management
• Develop annual sales forecasts and expense budgets
• Monitor performance versus budget; recommend corrective actions as needed
• Evaluate return on investment (ROI) for marketing expenditures
3. Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with HCPs, (Health care professionals) KOLs (Key opinion Leader), hospitals, and societies
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as professional associations and patient groups
4. Field Force Support & Training
• Provide training and support for sales teams and distributors
• Create training materials and deliver product knowledge sessions
• Conduct joint field visits and coaching
5. Event Planning
• Organize and manage product promotion activities at local and regional congresses
• Plan and execute booths, symposia, and speaker programs
6. Business Development Support
• Evaluate in-licensing opportunities
• Support product due diligence and market assessment
7. Other Duties
• Carry out any other tasks as instructed by the Managing Director or senior leadership
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCERequired
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical product management or marketing
• Experience in CNS therapeutic areas will be an added advantage
• Familiarity with Malaysia’s healthcare system and regulatory environment
Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product life cycle and marketing principles
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and sales data
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Business-level proficiency in English (verbal and written); Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is a plus
