JOB DETAILJob Details

・Interpreting verbal communication between Japanese and English for our international in-house staff.
Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between these languages in meetings such as phone/web conferences, on-site staff
meetings, etc.
In the context of computer-generated animation, enable verbal communication between clients, directors, and creators so that concepts and
other necessary ideas are properly understood across languages.

・Translating written communication between Japanese and English for our international staff.
Translate technical documentation and other CG animation-related documents, including emails, client feedback, and storyboards.
Proofread, edit and revise translated materials.

Check original text and documents to ensure that the translations retain the content, meaning, and accuracy of the original material. Ensure
technical terms and terminology are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions.

・Compiling terminology and information to be used in translation and interpretation.

・Utilising knowledge of Japanese- and English-speaking communities and values in order to remain sensitive to cultural diversity while
interpreting/translating conversations and documents.

・Working independently and taking the initiative in a team environment.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCERequired

✓At least 1 or 2 years of experience in the digital animation industry.

✓English must be fluent; native level is a plus.

✓Japanese must be fluent; native level is a plus. (JLPT N1 or equivalent level.)

✓The candidate must possess fluency in both written and spoken Japanese.

✓Professional experience as an interpreter and translator is required (any field is acceptable, with preference given to animation/games/VFX etc.).

✓Qualified candidates will have experience doing consecutive interpreting (while experience doing simultaneous interpreting is also sought).

✓We can provide training for simultaneous interpreting.

Candidates must have a suitable work-from-home environment.
